International Dogshow in Neumünster

5th and 6th June 2010

Dear Exhibitior!

We would like to provide a better understanding of our German show system and therefore a few informations and regulations are stated below. The Show will be held under the Rules and Show Regulations of the Verband für das Deutsche Hundewesen (VDH,
www.vdh.de ) and the FCI.

Dogs will be admitted to the show ground from 7:00 h on each day of the Show. Judging will commence at 09:30 h.

Dogs presented must have been vaccinated against Rabies a minimum of 3 weeks prior to the show (proof shall be given). The antirabic vaccination shall be valid for 12 months from the date of vaccination. If a longer validity is asserted, then this must be proven by an entry in the validity field of the vaccination certificate or the EU-Pet Passport in the ‘valid until’ field. If the vaccinated dog is revaccinated before the expiration of previous vaccination, the so-called 3 weeks limit shall not apply. Exhibitors will have the possibility to gain the official veterinary statement for re-entry into their country (e.g. Sweden).

Entry for the Show is restricted to dogs who are 6 months old on the day before the show. Dog show ban for dogs cropped contrary to animal protection law. In accordance with the „Tierschutz Hundeverordnung“ (animal protection dog regulations) from the 1st May 2002 the following dogs will be banned from participating at dog shows both at home and abroad: 1. Ears cropped after 01.01.1987; 2. Tail cropped after 01.06.1998 (exception: dogs used for hunting in accordance with german law for the protection animals); 3. The ban is not enforced in exceptional cases if a medical indication is known, the corresponding certification must be enclosed together with the entry.

You need to bring the pedigree of the entered dog with you. Dogs with a working certificate are only eglible in a working dog class (Gebrauchshundklasse) if a statement of the national Kennel Club is added to the entry form. If you want to enter in the champion class a photocopy of the champion title must be sent with the entry form. If this statement is still missing at the entry clossing date, the dog has to be shown in the open class.

Class of Honor (Ehrenklasse) is for dogs which are stated International Show Champions at the day, when entries close.

Dogs will be judged in the following order (§48): Puppy class (Jüngstenklasse), Class of Honour (Ehrenklasse), Youth- (Jugend-), Intermediate- (Zwischen), Champion- and Open class (Offene Klasse). Exhibitiors are responsible to bring their dogs into the ring on time. This is also valid for the last competions.

The show commitee will be most anxious for the care and safety of the dogs brought for exhibition, but it must be distinctly understood by exhibitors and all other persons that the Committee will not be responsible for the loss, detention of, or damage to any dogs or other property, whether arising form accident, or other causes whatever, or from any act or omission of itself, its officers, agent, servants or others.

The attention of exhibitors is drawn to the fact that every alteration other than combing and brushing of a dog is strictly forbidden. The use of gallows is forbidden. Double handling is principley not allowed.

Competitions:

Best of Breed - This competition will be run for each breed/variety, where a FCI CACIB is allocated. The Best of Breed will be judged after judging all classes from the dog and bitch winning the Youth-, Champion-, Working and Open class. This competion includes the Class of Honour. Exhibits need either a CACIB, the highest possible note in winning the Youth Class or the first place in the Class of Honour.

Best of Group - Best of Group must be selected from the Best of Breed winners from each FCI Group. Best of Group winners compete for Best in Show (Landessieger Schleswig-Holstein).

These competitions will be judged in the special events ring (Ehrenring).

Each exhibitor will receive a catalogue at the entrance. Each CACIB dog will get a prize badge. All dogs receive a certificate.
